Roland Theodore Moore, 89, of Beaufort, South Carolina, died Saturday evening, October 26, 2019, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

Mr. Moore was born in Claxton, Georgia and a son of the late Jack and Charlie Bell Moore. He was preceded in death by his first wife Vera Gulledge Moore and son Joel Clayton Moore. He was a loving husband to Maxine C. Moore, to whom he was married 23 years. Mr. Moore retired from the Derst Baking Company in 1992 after many years of employment with the company.

He was a hard worker, enjoyed being around others and was eager to help anyone in need. His main enjoyments in life were fishing, horticulture and working in the yard. Mr. Moore and his wife Maxine were ardent members of Praise Assembly of God and participated in mission trips to Costa Rica.

He is survived by two sons, Roland L. Moore (Laurie) and Randy Moore (Debra) both of Early Branch, South Carolina; 7 grandchildren, Amy Muckelvaney, Ashley Crowley, Will Phillips, Steven Moore, Gerald Popp, Brittany Long, and Saralyn Mcelvaine; 20 great-grandchildren, Haley Reed, Lynn Smith, Trayanna Baker, Gabrielle Crowley, Abigail Crowley, Olivia Crowley, Madelyn Muckelvaney, Isabella Muckelvaney, Luke Muckelvaney, Ray Phillips IV, Steven Moore, Jr., McKenzie Clements, Savanna Clements, Allison Long, Gerald Popp III, James Popp, Cassandra Popp, Morgan Rasmussen, Veronica Moore, and Micah Moore; 5 great-great-grandchildren, Carter Thames, Harper Thames, McKenna Smith, Hayden Truax, and Grayson Popp.

In addition to his wife Maxine, he is survived by his step children, Theresa L. Wersler (Charles), Karen L. Miller (Marvin), and Sheryl L Green (Jay) of Beaufort, Leslie W. Lee Jr., and Harvey E. Lee (Selena) of Alabama. He was a grandfather to 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

The visitation and viewing will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at Praise Assembly of God with funeral service following at 11:00 am. Interment will be in Beaufort Memorial Gardens.
