BEAUFORT, SOUTH CAROLINA -  Sally Landon Fuller Ten Eyck, 73, of Beaufort, wife of William B. Ten Eyck, died Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.





Sally was born in Waycross, Georgia on January 25, 1938. She was the daughter of the late Paul Hamilton Fuller III and the late Julia Elizabeth Vann. She grew up in De Land Florida and attended Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia. Sally married William Biddle Ten Eyck in De Land, Florida on December 19, 1959. They were blessed with three children, Sally Hamilton, William Biddle Jr., and Andrew Worley. Sally is survived by her beloved husband of almost fifty-two years, Bill, daughter Sally (Brian) Monahan of Irvington, New York and sons Bill (Pam) Ten Eyck of St. Johns, Florida and Andrew (Nancy) Ten Eyck of Maryville, Tennessee; seven grandchildren: namesake Sally Landon Ten Eyck, William Biddle Ten Eyck III and Samantha Spencer Ten Eyck of St. Johns, Florida; Paul Hamilton Ten Eyck, Andrew Biddle Ten Eyck, and Julia Virginia Ten Eyck of Maryville Tennessee, and James Fuller Monahan of Irvington New York; siblings are: sister Jean (Frank) Underhill of De Land, Florida, and brother, The Reverend Dr. Hamilton Fuller (Lynn) of Mills River, North Carolina.





Sally spent most of her adult life in Michigan and Ohio, although she always remained a True-Blue Southerner. Sally returned to the South and the Lowcountry in 2005.While in Michigan, Sally was a member of the Piety Hill Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution and was treasurer of its annual antique show for many years. She also worked on the committee handling the annual visit of the Metropolitan Opera to Detroit, Michigan. Sally became a certified instructor in Traditional Japanese Embroidery after studying with a Japanese Master twice a year for ten years. Her embroidery work won several awards for design and execution.





In Ohio, Sally was Regent of the Jonathan Dayton Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution. She was President of the Dayton Opera Association as well as chair of its Opera Fashion Show and Holiday Tables fundraisers. She served on the Board of Directors of the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra and the Victoria Theater Association. In 1997 she was Co-Chair of the Philharmonic's Designer Show House. Sally also served six years on the Vestry of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Oakwood, Ohio. Sally always enjoyed playing golf.





In 1993, Sally was honored to be in the Christening Party for the New Aegis Destroyer - USS Paul Hamilton-DDG60- at the Bath Iron Works in Bath, Maine. In 1995, Sally was involved with the commissioning of the ship at Charleston, South Carolina.





Sally was a member of The Society of First Families of South Carolina, Dr. Henry Woodward Chapter - Colonial Dames XVII Century, Charleston Chapter Daughters of American Colonists, Thomas Heyward, Jr. Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, and General Stephen Elliott Chapter United Daughters of the Confederacy.





Sally will be laid to rest near eight straight generations of her Fuller, Hamilton and Barnwell families in the cemetery of the Parish Church of St. Helena. A service will be held at 2o'clock Friday, December 16th, at The Parish Church of St. Helena. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Following the burial service the family will receive friends in the Parish Hall at St. Helena's. In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome memorial donations to the Preservation Trust for Historic St. Helena's Church, Beaufort Memorial Hospital Foundation, United Hospice of Beaufort or the organization of your choice.
