Sara Roberts Steinmeyer

Sara Roberts Steinmeyer, 94, widow of Charles Henry Steinmeyer, Sr. passed quietly at her home, June 5, 2023, surrounded by her children.
She was born March 4, 1929 to Clinton Douglas Roberts and Lillie Crapse Roberts. Her mother took the ferry from Parris Island, SC to Savannah, Ga for her birth. The family always teased her about not being born in Beaufort!
Sara is survived by two daughters, Sandra Kay Steinmeyer and Sally Steinmeyer Altman (Mikel) and a son, Charles Henry Steinmeyer Jr. (Kimberly), 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Clair Douglas Roberts Sr and sisters, Louise Roberts Vernoy and Ella Roberts Hogge, and a granddaughter, Natasha Steinmeyer Langford.
Sara was one of the first women Real Estate Brokers in Beaufort and founding chairperson for Beaufort County Board of Realtors Multiple Listing Service. She founded Anchor Associates, Inc. in 1979 where she was Broker in Charge until her retirement.
She spent her off time playing bridge and going to the beach. Many memories were made with her family of children, grands, and great grands (all raised with sand in their suits) at her iconic beach house “Little Blue” on Hunting Island, SC.
She believed in God and His Son Jesus Christ. Her strong faith was evidenced in her everyday life. She left a legacy of love. We were blessed to have her until this time. We will miss her deeply.
Funeral Services will be held at Copeland Funeral Service on Monday, June 12, 2023 at 11:00 with internment at Evergreen Cemetery.
