Susan Dee Smith

LADY'S ISLAND - Susan Dee Smith, 63, passed away in her home in Lady's Island, South Carolina on December 15, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer.   She was born February 22, 1951 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Charles and Patricia Holmes.  Susan graduated from Edison High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma with the class of 1969.  Susan received a bachelor's degree from Southwester n College, Winfield Kansas in Accounting and computer science.  She worked as an internal auditor for Boeing Corporation for over twenty years before retiring as the Senior Financial Analyst at Spirit Aero systems - both located in Wichita, KS.

Susan will be remembered for her kindness and beautiful smile.  She enjoyed making things grow and spending time with her family and best friend Donna Senn of Wichita, KS.

Susan is the beloved wife of Kyle R. Smith, married December 30, 1970 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  She is survived by her husband Kyle R Smith of Lady's Island, SC; her daughter and son- in- law Chet and Marcy Houston of Lady's Island, S;, three grandchildren, Brynna, Ashlyn and Faith Houston of Lady's Island, SC; her mother and father Jim and Patricia Dalby of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two brothers, Andy Dalby of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Randy Dalby of Summerville, Tennessee.  Susan is predeceased by her natural father, Charles Holmes and her brother Charlie Holmes.

A memorial service will be held at 11 o'clock Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at the Parish Church of St. Helena.
