BEAUFORT, SOUTH CAROLINA - Tera Jean Thorson Newcomb, 37, of Beaufort, South Carolina, died Friday, July 15, 2011, at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.
Tera was a graduate of Goodridge High School in Goodridge, Minnesota. She moved to Beaufort in 1991 after her graduation. She was employed by Huddle House for eighteen years. Tera was engaged to Dan Schell. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Wilfred Oliver Thorson, and her father, Rocky Oscar Merhus.
Surviving are her mother, Holly Younts; her grandmother, Lola Kostrzewski of Minnesota; her two sons, Jordan Oliver North and Charles Thor Newcomb; her daughter, Holly Renea North, and her fiancé, Dan Schell, all of Beaufort.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at Copeland Funeral Service - One Copeland Drive.
The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in the chapel of Copeland Funeral Service. Interment will be in Beaufort Memorial Gardens.
