Thomas Arthur Mitchell

RIDGELAND, SOUTH CAROLINA -Thomas Arthur Mitchell, 59, of Ridgeland, died Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Riverside Health and Rehab, Charleston, SC. Tom was born in Plainfield, Illinois to the late George Arthur and Rita Jane Schwab Mitchell. Thomas was retired from Gulfstream, Savannah, Georgia and worked for Bass Pro Shop in the gun department. He was a member of Carteret Street United Methodist Church, Parris Island Rod and Gun Club, and Dos Lupes Shooting Club. Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. His greatest love in life was his son. Surviving are his son Andrew Mitchell of Portsmouth, VA; a sister Joan Emmons of Indiana; aunts, uncles, cousins and good friends. A memorial service for Tom will be held 2:00 p.m. April 2nd at Carteret Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Susan Ulmer officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Awareness Off Island Thrift, 4375 Bluffton Parkway, Bluffton, SC, 29910 or to the American Cancer Society.
