DATAW ISLAND, SOUTH CAROLINA - Victor Brinkman, Jr., 86, of Dataw Island, husband of Ann "Nancy" Andrews Brinkman, died Saturday, December 10, 2011, at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Born in Hackensack, NJ; he was a son of the late Victor Brinkman Sr. and Kathryn Wheeler Brinkman. Victor was a graduate of Rensselaer Polytech Institute, where he earned his B.S. in Management Engineering, and was a member of Theta Xi Fraternity. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, where he was a member of Company E 5th Ranger Battalion. He was involved with many activities including Junior Achievement Advisor, Boy Scouts of America where he was an Eagle Scout, Silver Beaver and was Council Vice President of Districts in Louisville KY, President of the Tennis Association in Ramsey, NJ, President of the Croquet Club of Dataw Island, and was a Board Member, Vice President and Secretary of the Dataw Island Home Owners Association. He was a member of Sea Island Presbyterian Church. Surviving in addition to his wife of 60 years are three children, Barbara Conte of O'Fallon, MO, Victor Brinkman of Ormond Beach, FL, Paul Brinkman of Lawrence Harbor NJ, and a sister Barbara Collings of Fox Point WI.; 2 grandchildren and a great grandchild. A memorial service for will be held at 11 o'clock Thursday morning, January 26th, at Sea Island Presbyterian Church. Memorial contributions may be sent to Sea Island Presbyterian Church or the Beaufort Memorial Hospital Foundation Fund.
